Describes an experimental study to evaluate ozone as a corrosion inhibitor for use in cooling water systems. Presents the findings for a range of metals in soft and hard water. Concludes that the use of ozone as a stand-alone treatment for open recirculating cooling systems should not be viewed as an easy universal solution. Appropriate monitoring and control procedures are necessary when an ozone generator is used.
